Sir Keir Starmer has announced his timetable for stepping down as Prime Minister.

He said he will resign as Labour leader and has informed the King of this decision.
Starmer said he has asked the Labour National Executive Committee to set out the timetable for the Labour leadership race, with nominations to begin on July 9.
Nominations will close before the summer parliamentary recess, on July 16.
If a contest is held, this will ensure a new Labour leader is chosen when Parliament reconvenes in September.
