Seeing the stock price of Zhipu, I feel that the best monetization path for Doubao is to spin off and go public.


Doubao is actually the most "anti-Byte" product; in the past, ByteDance used the weapon of free content to defeat countless competitors:
Tomato Novel is free, beating Qidian.
Hongguo Short Films are free, beating iQiyi.
Soda Music is free, beating music platforms.
But in the AI era, free suddenly became ByteDance's biggest enemy. Doubao has already reached over 300 million monthly active users, with daily active users exceeding 120k, but it is almost unprofitable.
And for Doubao, ByteDance has already purchased nearly 120k NVIDIA cards (A100, A800, H800), as well as a large number of domestic AI chips, along with various supporting infrastructure.
ByteDance's capital expenditure plan for this year exceeds 200 billion yuan, accounting for about 60% of its projected profit in 2025.
