The crypto market is experiencing an “Internet era,” and the winners of this cycle will be stronger and more enduring than ever before.

On June 22, Bitwise CEO Hunter Horsley posted on the X platform to review the history of Internet development and look ahead to the future of the cryptocurrency industry.

Horsley pointed out that during the rise of the Internet in the 1990s, almost every idea could become feasible, and hundreds of companies received valuations of $500 million to $1 billion thanks to their growth potential.

However, as the early 2000s began, optimism was shattered, and only a few companies that managed to thrive by “proving” their own value could do so;

and these companies, by successfully demonstrating their actual business advantages, were able to go further in their operations than the previous cycle, with larger scale and size.

He also emphasized that the cryptocurrency industry is undergoing a similar transformation. The number of ultimate winners in this cycle will be smaller, but these winners will achieve more persistent growth based on solid, real-world performance, and their development scale and duration will exceed market expectations.

In summary, this viewpoint echoes the market’s current trend of shifting from “concept hype” to “fundamental-driven,” indicating that the cryptocurrency industry is moving toward a more mature and rational stage of development.
