Multiple technology and crypto companies pledge to collaborate in combating illegal wildlife trade

Deep Tide TechFlow News, June 22 — According to Reuters, during the "Joint Wildlife Conservation" business forum held during London Climate Action Week, platform companies such as Google, Meta, TikTok, and Alibaba pledged to strengthen the identification and removal of online illegal wildlife trade information, and explore the use of artificial intelligence for detection and prevention. Vodafone, Vodacom, and Safaricom plan to introduce AI-based anti-money laundering and transaction monitoring mechanisms into the mobile payment platform M-Pesa.

Payment and blockchain analysis firms like PayPal, TRM Labs, Chainalysis, and Luno also stated they will assist in cutting off funds related to illegal wildlife trade. British Airways and Heathrow Airport will launch public awareness campaigns. The United Nations Environment Programme data shows that the illegal trade of wildlife products can reach up to $23 billion annually.
