I never dream about trading, but for some reason this weekend I did. The market opened and I got long the S&P 500 (via $ES contracts, my preferred method).

So I bought a couple of contracts, the market dropped pretty viciously, I bought a couple more contracts, and the market continued to tank. At that point I bought a couple more contracts to average down and said to myself, "the S&P never really goes down, you just have to remain composed and be patient and you'll be able to get out".
The market continued to tank and my PnL moved to about -20% of my net worth, an obscene loss compared to my usual trading risks. I remember thinking at that point how oversized I was and that if this market continues to tank then I could lose everything I worked so hard for over the past 10+ years. It was a disgusting feeling.
I don't actually know what to draw from this dream besides utilize a stop loss and never forget your risk management, but deep down I think it's speaking to me about how the market just seems endlessly resilient lately and how those tides could turn and catch a lot of people extremely off guard.
