🇱🇧⚠ Lebanon Threatens to Halt Nuclear Negotiations Between Iran and the U.S.

As Washington and Tehran attempt to resume talks on Iran's nuclear program, the escalation of clashes between Israel and Hezbollah in Lebanon is casting a shadow over any diplomatic progress. According to the Wall Street Journal, recent attacks and ceasefire violations have increased tensions precisely at a time when delegations from both countries were meeting in Switzerland to discuss a possible agreement.
The main concern is that the Lebanese crisis could contaminate nuclear negotiations. Iran accuses the U.S. of not restraining Israel, while Washington demands that Tehran control allied groups like Hezbollah. The result is an environment of mistrust that hampers progress on sensitive issues such as uranium enrichment, sanctions relief, and international inspections.
Beyond the nuclear issue, the risk of new clashes also keeps global markets on alert. The Strait of Hormuz, a strategic route for about one-fifth of the world's oil, has returned to the center of concerns after threats to disrupt maritime traffic.
The message is clear: without stability in Lebanon, the chances of a lasting agreement between Iran and the U.S. decrease significantly. The Middle East continues to show how regional conflicts and global negotiations are deeply interconnected. 🌍🕊
