#MyGateTradeStory

I didn't enter crypto because I was passionate about charts.
I entered because I wanted a different future.
A few years ago, I was spending hours every day watching traders on social media post life-changing profits. Some people made it look effortless. One screenshot was enough to make me believe I was missing out on something big.
So I opened my first trading account and jumped in.
To my surprise, my first trades actually worked. The market was strong, prices were rising, and almost everything I bought seemed to go up. I thought I had a talent for trading.
The truth was much simpler.
I was confusing a bull market with skill.
As my confidence grew, so did my position sizes. I stopped doing proper research. I stopped thinking about risk. Deep down, I believed the market would always give me another chance.
Then one trade changed everything.
I entered a position that started moving against me. At first, the loss was small. I told myself to be patient. Then it got bigger. Instead of accepting the mistake, I kept holding and hoping.
Hope turned into stress.
Stress turned into sleepless nights.
And eventually, the market taught me a lesson that no book, course, or influencer ever could.
The market doesn't care what you want to happen.
That loss hurt, but it forced me to become a better trader.
I started treating trading like a profession instead of a lottery ticket. I learned that protecting capital is more important than chasing profits. I learned that missing a trade is better than forcing one. Most importantly, I learned that discipline matters far more than prediction.
Today, I still make mistakes.
I still have losing trades.
But now every trade has a reason, a plan, and a risk limit.
Looking back, my biggest growth didn't come from my best trade.
It came from my worst one.
Because that was the moment I stopped trying to get rich quickly and started learning how to survive in the market long enough to succeed.
That's the lesson I'll carry with me for the rest of my trading journey.
