I joined crypto in late 2020 with one goal:

Turn a small amount of money into something life changing.

I wasn't interested in learning.

I didn't study charts.
I didn't understand market cycles.
I didn't even know what risk management meant.

I was chasing excitement.

Every day I saw people posting insane gains online.

10x.
20x.
100x.

I thought if others could do it, I could too.

So whenever a coin started pumping, I jumped in without thinking.

Sometimes I made money.

That only made me more reckless.

I started increasing my position sizes and using leverage because I felt unstoppable.

Then came the trade I will never forget.

I opened a huge position on an altcoin after a massive breakout.

Everyone on social media was bullish.

People were calling for new all time highs.

I ignored every warning sign and went all in.

A few hours later the market started dropping.

I told myself it was just a small correction.

I held.

The losses grew bigger.

Still, I refused to exit.

My emotions took control.

Instead of protecting my capital, I kept hoping for a miracle.

The miracle never came.

Within days, most of my account was gone.

I felt angry.

Not at the market.

At myself.

Because I finally realized something:

The market doesn't reward hope.

It rewards discipline.

That painful experience forced me to change.

I began studying technical analysis.

I learned position sizing.

I created rules for entries and exits.

Most importantly, I stopped trying to get rich overnight.

Today I still make mistakes.

But I never trade without a plan.

That loss was expensive.

Yet it taught me lessons no book ever could.

Sometimes the trade that hurts you the most becomes the reason you improve the most.
