BlockBeats News: On June 21, CNN reported that U.S. Vice President Vance said his top priorities in negotiations with Iran are to establish a negotiation framework, make progress on the Iran nuclear issue, and push for a ceasefire in Lebanon.

Before departing for Switzerland, Vance said, “We will establish a framework led by political leadership at the highest level, and the technical teams will continue to advance the work on site.” He said he would be able to stay in Switzerland for only “one to two days,” but hopes to make progress on issues related to the handling of Iran’s nuclear material.

Vance said that pushing for a ceasefire in Lebanon is also one of the priorities, as the region has recently again suffered missile attacks from Israel. He said the situation “will be an issue we must continue to manage.” “These two matters are our focus. I believe Iran also has issues they would like to discuss,” he added.
