On June 20th, all four matches of the second round of the group stage for Groups C and D at the 2026 North America, Central America, and Caribbean World Cup were concluded, with many highlights in the matchups and the qualification picture becoming clear.

The Group C matches were full of excitement, with Morocco facing Scotland and showcasing rapid goal-scoring. Just 71 seconds into the game, Saebari scored with an offside trap shot, setting the record for the fastest goal in this World Cup. In the second half, Scotland launched multiple attacks, creating danger in the penalty area, and a powerful shot at the end almost equalized the score. Ultimately, Morocco won 1-0, earning 4 points and temporarily leading the group standings. Later, the star-studded Brazil showed strong dominance against Haiti, with Cunha scoring twice, and another brilliant team play leading to a third goal. Brazil ultimately shut out their opponents 3-0, easily securing the victory.

The two matches in Group D had clear outcomes. The host United States faced Australia, relying on an own goal from the opponent and a header from Freeman to win 2-0, achieving back-to-back wins in the group stage and securing a spot in the knockout stage one round early. Paraguay and Turkey played a tight match, with Gallarsa scoring a quick goal in the 2nd minute, and the final score remaining 1-0, giving Paraguay the crucial three points.

After this round of matches, Haiti and Turkey have lost both games and are already eliminated from this World Cup. The points standings in each group are mostly clear, and the remaining group stage matches will feature intense qualification battles, with competition becoming increasingly fierce.
