Technical-level talks between the U.S. and Iran will be held today, and the passage through the Strait of Hormuz has once again brought about another “Rashomon” scenario.

According to CCTV, after the United States and Iran officially signed a Memorandum of Understanding on June 18, Pakistan announced on June 20 that technical-level talks between the two sides will be held in Switzerland on June 21. At present, Iran’s negotiating delegation has arrived in Switzerland, and U.S. Vice President Vance has also set off to attend the talks.
Meanwhile, on June 20, Iran’s military announced the closure of the Strait of Hormuz, citing the U.S. failure to restrain Israel and its violation of the Memorandum of Understanding. The U.S. military later said it had not monitored any actions by Iran to close the strait. On June 20, U.S. President Donald Trump also released a statement regarding the collection of tolls for passage through the strait.
