In the cryptocurrency world, there is a kind of pain worse than being forced to sell at a loss—that is, watching others make money while you miss out.

#MyGate Trading Moments
Recently, the market has been very hot, with many altcoins and popular sectors soaring one after another. Seeing people on the Gate platform posting gains of several times, even ten times, I instantly felt my FOMO (Fear of Missing Out) intensify. That feeling is like: everyone else is getting rich, and I’m the only one left behind.
Because I was afraid of missing the next wave, I went against my trading system and blindly bought the hottest coin at the time without thorough research.
The result was predictable—I bought at the top, and the market soon experienced a sharp decline, with a significant pullback in just a few days.
That loss caused by missing out completely woke me up. I sat in front of my computer reflecting: every day, the market is full of stories of instant wealth, but do those stories really belong to me?
It was this lesson that changed my understanding. I corrected my underlying logic:
1. Acknowledge your limitations: The money in the market is endless, but your capital can be lost entirely. Missing a wave of market movement means it was never within my understanding. Accepting missing out is a sign of a trader’s maturity.
2. Never be a “rusher”: It’s better to miss out than to chase. The market is created by movement, not by chasing. When everyone is crazy, ask yourself sharply: Where is my stop-loss? If you can’t answer, then stay put.
3. Cultivate rhythm in @Gate__Square: Now, when I see others sharing their trades, I feel nothing inside. I prefer to read posts analyzing the overall trend rationally, shifting my focus from “short-term price fluctuations” back to “long-term industry trends.”
The crypto world has never lacked stars, but it lacks longevity.
No longer anxious about missing out, no longer acting out of fear during pullbacks. Guard your own small territory and patiently wait for high-probability opportunities. This is not only an upgrade in trading cognition but also a transformation of mindset.
