I’m really fed up. In the same batch of new coins, some people are taking huge profits on them, while others are getting pinned down and getting shorn from below. What’s in between them is just a single candlestick.

I’m holding the order for $LAB. I placed it the day it went live, and it has never come off since.

My cost is 0.18. Now the price is around 0.05. My position isn’t big, but this kind of dull “knife” cutting—worse than getting liquidated—because it keeps giving you hope, and keeps grinding down your patience.

When I rushed in, my head was hot. I thought, it’s a new coin—liquidity is good. The previous $RE went from the IEO all the way to 0.6. With that kind of emotional spillover, no matter what, you should at least be able to drink a bit of soup.

But before long after I got in, it turned and went down. Looking back now, the basic playbook for retail “leeks” is: when you see others eating meat, you rush in to take the bag; by the time you’re the one holding the bowl, there’s only soup scraps left.

The biggest lesson from this trade boils down to one thing: new coins aren’t impossible to trade, but in those first few days right after launch, sentiment is at its fiercest and volatility is at its highest. Never chase the highest emotional peak. Wait until it pulls back to O, the funding rate normalizes, and trading volume starts to shrink before considering it—otherwise you’re just helping the people in front of you pad their positions.

In the same market, some people get to sit in a rocket, and others end up riding a roller coaster. The difference is where you enter and whether you have discipline when exiting.

Talk a bit in the comments—how many times have you been cut by new coins?

The memorandum of understanding between the US and Iran has officially taken effect. The Strait of Hormuz has resumed navigation, and the ships that were stuck on the other side have started to move.

This signal is a variable for crude oil and inflation expectations. Once oil prices come down, the Fed’s rate-hike pressure can catch its breath. For the crypto market’s liquidity, it’s a pressure-release valve—what matters is how this plays out over the next 60 days.
