#MyGateTradeStory That meme coin's candlestick chart taught me what it means to "revere the market."

When I first entered the scene, I was swept up by the community hype and rushed into a meme coin. At that time, all I saw were "Hurry up" and "Holding is faith," I went all-in with my entire position, without even setting a stop-loss.

And what happened? Overnight, my unrealized gains doubled, then halved. Staring at that waterfall chart on the screen in the early morning, palms sweating, only one thought in my mind—if I had only used 10% of my position to test the waters, if I had only set a simple stop-loss...

After that experience, my trading logic was completely reshaped:

1. Position size is always the first line of defense — never go all-in on any meme coin, no matter how hot the hype, only participate with a proportion I can afford to lose.

2. Stop-loss is not cowardice, it’s discipline — always write down exit conditions before entering, leave when reached, no negotiations with myself.

3. Hype is a signal, not a reason — no matter how loud the community shouts, always check liquidity, token distribution, contract security first, rather than being driven by emotion.

Ultimately, meme coin volatility is a magnifying glass — it doesn’t create problems, it just amplifies the issues you already have. That loss was the most expensive lesson I’ve ever learned, but it also helped me truly shift from a "gambler's mindset" to a "trading mindset."

Thanks to Gate, I have a platform for practical experience and reflection. Every trade is a conversation with myself.
