CryptoWorld News reports that in an Axios interview, Trump said he no longer views the artificial intelligence company Anthropic as a national security threat. This shift in stance stems from a meeting between Trump and Anthropic CEO Dario Amodei during the G7 summit luncheon. Previously, Trump had characterized Anthropic as a potential threat. On June 12, the U.S. Department of Commerce issued an export control order that intercepted the export of the Claude Fable 5 and Claude Mythos 5 models, requiring foreign technical personnel to access only with approval. Trump reiterated that he does not want to restrict the domestic AI industry by shutting down or taking over companies; maintaining a competitive edge against China remains the top priority, but the option of forced regulatory measures using emergency executive powers has not been ruled out.

Prioritizing competition with China ≠ coming after you—Anthropic—chip controls plus model export restrictions hitting from both sides… this is very Trump.
