BlockBeats News, June 20 — Axelar Network announced that they have identified an incident affecting assets bridged from the Axelar chain via IBC to Secret Network, with approximately $4.67 million worth of tokens stolen.

Axelar stated that, based on current information, the issue is limited to the ICS-20 smart contract on the Secret side within the Cosmos IBC connection between Secret and Axelar, which is used for bridging assets from Axelar to Secret. After the incident, the Axelar Emergency Committee immediately disabled the Secret and Secret-SNIP connection and is in contact with relevant exchanges and law enforcement agencies.

Axelar indicated that this incident is limited to assets bridged from Axelar to Secret via IBC; other IBC connections or Secret tokens appear unaffected, and other Axelar integrations are also unaffected. The Axelar core protocol remains unaffected. The team is preparing a detailed post-incident analysis report.
