Iranian Deputy Foreign Minister: The United States must ensure Israel complies with the Memorandum of Understanding

Gold Finance reports that on June 20, Saeed Hatibzadeh, Deputy Foreign Minister of Iran, said in an interview that the United States must ensure that Israel complies with the terms of the memorandum of understanding reached between the U.S. and Iran. Hatibzadeh said that Iran is ready to continue advancing the diplomatic process: “If the other side shows the same serious attitude, we are also prepared to move forward step by step.” He said that Iran is seeking peace on all fronts, including in Gaza. As Lebanon is directly linked to the conflict, it has been included in the memorandum of understanding. “Only when Israel ends the occupation and complies with international law will peace and stability prevail in Lebanon and across the entire region.” Regarding the Strait of Hormuz issue, Hatibzadeh said that Iran will continue coordinating with Oman and providing navigation services in accordance with international law. During the 60-day period specified in the memorandum of understanding, Iran will not charge transit fees, but afterward it will introduce a new channel-management mechanism and submit it to the regional countries. Hatibzadeh also said that any agreement to be reached in the future must include the release and unfreezing of all Iranian funds that have been frozen. (CCTV News)
