Wu Shuo learned that Axelar Network stated that a cross-chain asset theft incident from Axelar chain to Secret Network via IBC has been discovered, involving approximately $4.67 million. Preliminary investigations indicate that the vulnerability lies in the ICS-20 smart contract used for transferring assets from Axelar to Secret on the Secret side IBC connection. After the incident, the Axelar Emergency Committee has suspended the Secret and Secret-SNIP connections, contacted exchanges and law enforcement agencies for intervention, and is preparing a post-incident review report. The team stated that this incident only affected assets transferred via IBC from Axelar to Secret, and did not impact other IBC connections or Secret's native tokens. Axelar's other integrations and core protocols remain unaffected.
