The Supreme Leader of Iran states he has a different opinion on the US-Iran memorandum

Golden Finance reports that on June 19, Iran’s Supreme Leader Mujtaba Khamenei issued a statement regarding the Iran-U.S. understanding memorandum. The statement said: “As you all know, Iran and the U.S. President have signed a memorandum of understanding. In the process of reaching this, the relevant officials have made many efforts out of concern and goodwill; of course, it was the U.S. President who, out of helplessness, used various means to achieve this. I fundamentally disagree, but based on the commitment made by the President of Iran—who serves as Chairman of the Supreme National Security Council—on behalf of himself and all members, regarding safeguarding the rights of the Iranian nation and the Resistance Front, and his clear assumption of the related responsibilities, I grant my approval. He also clearly stated that if the U.S. side pushes further and makes excessive demands, Iran will never submit. From this moment onward, we will wait for the implementation of the stated conditions. But obviously, future face-to-face negotiations do not mean accepting the will of the enemy.” (CCTV International News)
