Vance: A total of 12.5 million barrels of oil have already passed through the strait; the 60-day negotiation period officially begins today.

Golden Finance reported that on June 18, at a White House press conference, U.S. Vice President Vance said on Thursday that after the United States and Iran signed a memorandum of understanding and ended a war that had lasted nearly four months, 12.5 million barrels of oil had already passed through the Strait of Hormuz. He also said that the 60-day negotiation period stipulated in the memorandum officially began on Thursday. Vance said, “I would say that the 60-day deadline officially starts today.” He also said that Iran would not give up its right to self-defense, but that as part of the agreement reached with Washington, the U.S. expects Tehran will not possess missiles capable of “broadly threatening the entire world.”
