Golden Finance reports that market analysis firm The Kobeissi Letter has released the latest data showing that the weight of the semiconductor sector in the U.S. stock market continues to rise, currently accounting for about 18.8% of the total market capitalization of the S&P 500, reaching a record high. Since 2022, this has increased more than threefold, and during the same period, the Semiconductor Index SOX has risen approximately 546%, demonstrating the industry's significant leadership in this round of the tech cycle.
From a historical comparison, the current semiconductor weight in the S&P 500 has exceeded more than half of its peak level during the 2000 internet bubble period, with a clear structural increase. The U.S. equity market is continuing to concentrate on AI and the semiconductor industry chain, and the influence of tech stocks on the overall index has reached an extreme historical level.
