Two brothers from Texas admit to kidnapping a Minnesota family at gunpoint, forcing them to transfer over $8 million in cryptocurrency assets

Mars Finance News, June 19 — Two brothers from Waller, Texas, Isiah Angelo Garcia and Raymond Christian Garcia, admitted to kidnapping with a firearm.
On September 19, 2025, the two broke into a home in Grant, Minnesota, threatened the family with guns, and tied them up with zip ties for over 8 hours, forcing the father to transfer over $8 million from his encrypted account and coercing him to go to a northern cabin to retrieve more storage devices.
After the victim's son reported the incident, the two fled and were later arrested in the Houston area.
They have recently pleaded guilty in the U.S. District Court in Minneapolis to the charge of "interfering with commerce by robbery," each facing a maximum of 20 years in prison, and agreed to pay over $8 million in restitution.
The sentencing date has not yet been determined.
