Israel and Hezbollah Agree to Ceasefire

Israel and Hezbollah are reported to have agreed on a ceasefire that took effect on Friday at 4:00 PM local time, according to a Reuters report citing a senior U.S. official.
The agreement was reached after both sides engaged in mutual fighting again on the same day. The ceasefire is expected to ease the rising tensions in the Israel-Lebanon border region in recent times.
“We understand that after the gunfire earlier today, Israel and Hezbollah are now in a ceasefire,” the official said, as quoted by Reuters.
So far, there are no further details regarding the duration or terms of the ceasefire agreement. Neither Israel nor Hezbollah has issued an official statement regarding the implementation of the agreement.
