TRON transitioned from a foundation structure to the #TRON DAO model a few years ago. It was a development that changed not only the technical structure of the ecosystem but also the community perception and governance model. Recently, with the news coming in, the effects of this shift have become more apparent.
The main goal of the DAO structure is for the community to make decisions about the network's future instead of a single company. While this theoretically creates a more decentralized structure, it has emerged as a factor that increases participation within the TRON community. The community has become more visible in areas such as network updates, staking mechanisms, and Super Representative (SR) elections.
However, there are also criticisms. Some analysts argue that although TRON is managed as a DAO, Justin Sun's influence over the ecosystem remains very strong, and governance is not fully distributed. Therefore, TRON is considered a "practically quick decision-making but not fully decentralized in theory" model. I do not agree with this because all decisions and developments are shared transparently.
