Two brothers from Texas admit to kidnapping a family in Minnesota at gunpoint, forcing them to transfer over $8 million in cryptocurrency assets

BlockBeats News, June 19th, in Waller, Texas, two brothers Isiah Angelo Garcia and Raymond Christian Garcia admitted to committing a gunpoint kidnapping. On September 19, 2025, the two broke into a house in Grant, Minnesota, threatened the family with guns, and tied them up with zip ties for over 8 hours, forcing the father to transfer over $8 million from his encrypted account and forcing him to go to a northern cabin to retrieve more storage devices. After the victim's son reported the incident, the two fled and were later arrested in the Houston area. The two have recently pleaded guilty in the U.S. District Court in Minneapolis to the charge of "interfering with commerce by robbery," each facing a maximum of 20 years in prison, and have agreed to pay over $8 million in restitution. Sentencing date has not yet been set.
