Chris Gardner was a broke medical salesman with a wife, a baby, and $10,000 in debt.

One day, he saw a man getting out of a Ferrari and asked:
“What do you do, and how do you do it?”
The answer: Stockbroker.
He decided to become one.
His wife left. He became homeless. For nearly a year, he and his toddler slept in shelters, parks, and even subway bathrooms.
Every morning, he put on his suit and walked into work like everything was fine.
Nobody knew.
He became the top trainee, started his own firm in 1987, and became a millionaire.
His life later inspired the movie The Pursuit of Happyness.
His message is simple:
“Nobody is coming to save you. You have to save yourself.”
