Ethereum L2 Network Base has deployed the second network upgrade Beryl to the Base Sepolia testnet and plans to activate it on the mainnet on June 25. This upgrade will introduce the B20 token standard, which can be used to directly issue stablecoins and other assets within the Base node software. B20 is compatible with ERC-20 and supports signature authorization, minting and burning, supply caps, transfer policies, and freezing and seizure-related functions.
