$SOL South Korean National Assembly Launches National Investigation into Voter Shortage Incident



On the 18th, South Korea's National Assembly approved a 45-day national investigation into the voter shortage incident during local elections, to explore the causes, process, and response measures. According to South Korean media reports, the National Assembly held a plenary session on that day, approving the launch of the national investigation with a vote of 250 in favor and 1 against. The investigation targets the Central Election Commission and its subordinate regional branches at all levels. The investigation is expected to last until August 1, and may be extended with approval from the National Assembly if necessary.
