The G7 called for action against North Korean hackers.


G7 leaders stated the need to jointly counter cryptocurrency thefts and cybercrimes related to North Korea. In the summit's final document in Evian, the countries also expressed concern over Pyongyang's nuclear and missile programs, but did not propose specific measures for the crypto sector.

According to Chainalysis, in 2025, North Korea-linked hackers stole $2.02 billion in cryptocurrencies — a 51% increase compared to the previous year. The total value of assets they stole was estimated by analysts at a minimum of $6.75 billion. $GT
