According to CryptoQuant's research, research director Julio Moreno cited by The Block on June 19th stated that transactions under 0.01 BTC now account for 80% of daily Bitcoin transactions, up from about 44% in 2023.

This increase is driven by Runes, Ordinals, BRC-20, and timestamp services—protocols based on OP_RETURN creating a large volume of microtransactions, some as low as 546 satoshis (about $0.35).
Bitcoin's network activity index has steadily increased since January, reaching its highest level since late 2024, and is currently only about 7% below the all-time high set in September 2024.
