SEC Chair Atkins Defends CFTC Oversight of Prediction Markets

SEC Chairman Paul Atkins defended the CFTC's capacity to oversee prediction markets despite its roughly 550 employees versus the SEC's more than 4,000. Atkins praised CFTC Chairman Mike Selig and said Selig is trying to understand innovative products traded worldwide. The CFTC requested a $410 million budget for the 2027 fiscal year, while the SEC requested $1.908 billion.
