Elon Musk responds to Tang Jie: "It won't take that long for China's large models to reach Fable level": If measured by practicality, even reaching it by Q1 next year would be impressive.
BlockBeats News, June 19—When Elon Musk replied on X to a discussion about the “expected timeline for China’s large models to reach Anthropic’s Fable level,” he said, “It could be in the first quarter of (2027).”
Subsequently, Tang Jie, founder of Zhipu AI, replied to Musk, saying, “It won’t take that long.” Musk responded, “In benchmarks, yes; but if we measure by true practicality, even the first quarter would be very impressive.”
Musk also said that Anthropic is correctly focusing on maximizing useful intelligence, which won’t show up in benchmarks, but definitely will show up in revenue.
