The Chinese Embassy in Sudan issues a risk alert

Recently, the Chinese Embassy in Sudan has received reports from some Chinese companies indicating that certain organizations in China have published information about large-scale engineering projects in Sudan and organized project bidding. After reviewing the bidding documents, our embassy would like to alert you to the following project risks:

  1. The bidding documents do not specify the source of project funding, and the requirements for the winning bidder are strict, posing a significant implementation risk.
  2. The bidding entity is a non-governmental organization, not the project owner, and has not provided proof of past experience in implementing similar projects.
  3. Since 2023, Sudan has been in a state of ongoing armed conflict, with overall security risks being high, and infrastructure suffering severe damage, making engineering construction in Sudan very challenging.
Here, our embassy once again reminds Chinese enterprises to thoroughly understand the actual situation of relevant organizations, realistically assess project opportunities and implementation risks, and proceed with project cooperation prudently. (Ministry of Commerce)
