Gold Finance reports that on June 18th, according to Reuters, France's cybersecurity agency ANSSI announced on Tuesday that it will cease certifying security products lacking quantum-resistant encryption technology starting in 2027, and recommends that companies only purchase quantum-safe products before 2030. ANSSI certification is a mandatory requirement for French government agencies and critical infrastructure operators, and this move will substantially phase out old encryption systems.
ANSSI official Samih Souissi stated that this is not only a technical issue but also involves governance, industrial planning, regulation, and sovereignty. The policy adjustment also aims to prevent "collect first, decrypt later" attacks—attackers may currently store encrypted data and decrypt it in the future once quantum computers are powerful enough.
