Mars Finance News, June 18 — The Algorand Foundation announced a roadmap planning to make its blockchain resistant to quantum attacks by the end of next year.
The roadmap outlines a series of upgrades starting from 2026, including the introduction of post-quantum accounts, multi-signature wallets, and staking support.
Subsequent phases will focus on more fundamental network components.
The foundation stated that its roadmap builds on work initiated in 2022 and extends these efforts to other parts of the protocol, aiming to achieve the broad quantum resilience described by Algorand by the end of 2027.
The foundation indicated that this milestone is expected to be reached before NIST deprecates certain traditional cryptographic standards, and three years ahead of the timeline set by the U.S. National Security Agency for national security systems.
