#我的Gate交易时刻

I still have a screenshot on my phone, deleted it three times, and restored it three times.

It was late at night on March 12, 2026, when I received a notification that a position on Gate had been liquidated. I lost 150k yuan—not the biggest loss, but the one that woke me up the most.

At that time, Bitcoin had just started to retrace from around $74,000. I thought it was just a “technical correction,” and I opened a 5x leveraged long position on Gate. Initially, the floating profit was decent, and I thought, “My judgment was right this time,” so I didn’t take profit but added to the position. As a result, at 2 a.m., BTC suddenly crashed, followed by a collective plunge of altcoins—ORDI dropped 12% in five minutes, and DOGE fell 9%. The account margin ratio instantly dropped below 100%, leaving no chance to add to the position. When the system automatically liquidated the position, I stared at the phone screen, my mind completely blank.

That night, I hardly slept. Regret, fear, and frustration tore at me repeatedly.

But what truly woke me up was the review after I calmed down the next day. I pulled out all my trading records from that period and discovered a terrifying fact: in the past three months, my profitable trades averaged less than 2,000 yuan each; while my losing trades averaged over 30k yuan each. Winning small, losing big—this is a common trait among all losing traders.

From that day on, I set three ironclad rules for myself, and I never dared to break them:

First, never risk more than 15% of my total funds on a single position, and keep leverage within 3x. High leverage amplifies not gains but human weaknesses. No matter how correct the direction, without proper position management, it can turn into disaster.

Second, always set a stop-loss order before opening a trade. Take profits gradually when reaching the target, and never be greedy. Now, every trade I make has a preset exit point—whether for loss or profit, without exception.

Third, no more going all-in. Even if I’m very confident about a direction, I only use part of my position to test the waters. If I’m wrong, I cut my losses and exit; if I’m right, I add more.

Now I trade on Gate.io more calmly. The returns aren’t as “exciting” as before, but the curve is much more stable, and I can finally sleep well.

Although this “painful lesson” cost me money, it was the most expensive and valuable tuition in my trading career.

To newcomers just entering the market, I want to say: the market never closes, and missing one opportunity means there’s always another. But if your principal is gone, then you really have nothing left.
