#我的Gate交易时刻
If you ask me what is the most dangerous in the crypto market, my answer is not a sharp decline, but FOMO.
In early June 2026, I saw a short-term rebound in the Meme sector, with DOGE rising from its low of the year at $0.077 back up to around $0.086. The group was flooded with messages like "Dogecoin is about to take off" and "Elon Musk is calling the shots again." I opened a 10x leveraged long position on DOGEUSDT around $0.10838.
At the moment I entered, the unrealized profit was indeed increasing. I watched the candlesticks, with only one thought in my mind: Wait a little longer, let the profits run.
But the market didn’t give me that chance. DOGE quickly retraced from $0.108 to $0.08768—under 10x leverage, a decline of less than 20% was enough to put the position at risk. I was forced to close at a loss.
Reflecting on this trade, I made three fatal mistakes:
First, chasing highs. When a coin has already gained a significant increase in the short term, chasing it results in a poor risk-reward ratio. You take on the risk of buying at a high, while the profit potential is limited.
Second, ignoring liquidity. Meme coins have far less liquidity than mainstream coins. When trying to buy in, there might be no buy orders at all, and even if your direction is correct, insufficient depth could prevent you from closing the position.
Third, excessive leverage. 10x leverage means a 10% adverse price movement can wipe out your entire position. On highly volatile Meme coins, this is no different from gambling.
Since the peak in 2024, the Meme coin market has evaporated about $110 billion. DOGE has halved from its high above $0.20 in 2025. This is not accidental; the market is teaching everyone who ignores risk in the harshest way.
My current strict rules are: no single position exceeding 5% of total funds, leverage no more than 5x, and stop-loss orders must be in place. Meme coins are not off-limits, but use spot trading, small positions, and be mentally prepared to zero out.
To newcomers, I want to say: FOMO at the high point, patience at the low point. Don’t think you can make money just because others are. Everyone’s entry time, capital size, and psychological resilience are different—trading is your own business.
