Hong Kong experiences another gold robbery: 6 kilograms of gold stolen, with a case value of approximately 7 million Hong Kong dollars

Deep Tide TechFlow News, June 18th, according to Sing Tao Daily, Hong Kong has experienced another gold robbery. A 36-year-old man reported at the 1st floor of Parking Lot 3 at Hong Kong International Airport that he was stabbed in the hands and feet with a knife and had a backpack containing 6 gold bars weighing a total of 6 kilograms stolen, with an estimated value of about 7 million Hong Kong dollars. Hong Kong police disclosed this information on the same day. Over the past year, Hong Kong has seen multiple large-scale cash robberies involving gold or related to gold trading:

  1. In September 2025, more than ten people broke into a gold processing factory located in a factory building in Hung Hom, stealing about 65 kilograms of gold bars and gold powder, with a market value of about 59 million Hong Kong dollars.

  2. On December 18, 2025, two employees from a Japanese company, carrying 1 billion yen in cash, were robbed by three knife-wielding robbers when they got out of a currency exchange shop near Sheung Wan.

  3. On March 20, 2026, a gold shop on Chung On Street in Hung Hom was robbed of 73 kilograms of gold bars, with a market value of about 100 million Hong Kong dollars.
