Kevin Warsh: The Federal Reserve Keeps Interest Rates Unchanged, Inflation Risks Still Present
The Federal Reserve kept the benchmark interest rate unchanged at 3.50%–3.75%, marking the fourth consecutive time maintaining the rate. Warsh's first press conference drew significant attention, with the market looking for inflation clues. Although the rate remained unchanged, inflation remained a core issue, with Citadel Securities warning that inflation could become entrenched due to the impact of financial conditions, labor market resilience, supply chain bottlenecks, and increased AI investments. It is forecasted that there will be three more rate hikes in September 2026, December 2026, and March 2027. Bitcoin declined 0.6% in the past 24 hours, approximately $65,430; Ethereum fell 1.4%, approximately $1,770.
