Federal Reserve Chair Wosch: Hope the market prices based on real economic conditions rather than following the Fed’s interpretation

Golden Finance reported that on June 18, Federal Reserve Chair Wosh said on Wednesday that he hopes financial markets will be able to price securities based on their own judgment of the economy, rather than trying to price them based on expectations of how central bank officials interpret the data. He said, “The more the market focuses on real economic changes, the better it can decide which data are more important and which are relatively less important, and the more it can form pricing that it believes is most likely to happen.” He added that this can help avoid a situation in which “financial markets are only constantly reflecting the things we have said.”
