Aztec Labs: Currently investigating potential vulnerabilities, approximately $2 million transferred out from the contract
BlockBeats News, June 18th, Aztec Labs issued a statement saying they are investigating a potential vulnerability incident that affects the Aztec payment product launched in 2021, which has now been deprecated. Approximately $2 million has been transferred out from an immutable smart contract.
Aztec Labs stated that this deprecated product is an immutable Stage 2 Rollup and was discontinued in 2022. Aztec Labs does not hold the administrator keys for this system and cannot control it, so they are unable to pause or upgrade the system.
Aztec Labs also mentioned that this incident is separate from the deprecated Aztec Connect product vulnerability incident that occurred on June 14, 2026. The team will share further updates at the appropriate time.
