Golden Finance reports that on June 18th, local time in the United States, on the 17th, both the U.S. and Iran signed a memorandum of understanding remotely. U.S. officials stated that the document was personally signed by Trump and is now in effect. Iranian Foreign Ministry spokesperson Bagheri said that from the moment the memorandum takes effect, that is, starting now, negotiations on nuclear issues and sanctions will be conducted within 60 days. Before the signing of the agreement, the U.S. and Iran announced the official text of the memorandum of understanding reached by both sides. Concerning the widely watched Iranian nuclear issue, the text shows that Iran reaffirms it will not acquire or develop nuclear weapons, and both sides agree to conduct onsite dilution of Iran’s enriched uranium under the supervision of the International Atomic Energy Agency.
