Today, a friend suddenly told me that he has already been laid off for nearly half a year.

He’s been looking for a job the whole time.
Because of his age, he’s been rejected many times.
You can clearly feel his anxiety.
In recent years, we’ve been discussing AI.
Discussing models.
Discussing agents.
Discussing computing power.
Discussing valuation.
Discussing the next trillion-dollar company.
But for an ordinary person who’s 35+ ,
AI might not be a productivity revolution.
It may be a layoff notice.
Those past jobs that were high-paying, respectable, and stable
are being rapidly re-assessed.
The market’s imagination for AI keeps getting higher,
but the amount of buffer time left for many ordinary people is getting smaller.
I don’t know how to comfort him.
The crypto world is changing fast.
So is the rest of the world.
We’re all being forced to adapt to a new environment.
It’s just that some people get the opportunity,
and some people become the price.
