Deep Tide TechFlow news: On June 17, citing Axios, sources said the United States, Iran, and mediators are discussing moving the signing ceremony for the Memorandum of Understanding originally scheduled for Friday to as early as Wednesday. If this plan goes ahead, the Memorandum of Understanding will be signed electronically, and the provisions in the agreement concerning the Strait of Hormuz will begin to take effect—allowing the United States to finally release the full text of the agreement. Sources said the main reason for advancing the signing is to reopen the Strait of Hormuz earlier than Friday, since both sides have already reached agreement on the matter. Another factor may be the political pressure the White House faces to release the memorandum text.

The sources said that even if the signing date changes, the two countries’ delegations will still meet as planned on Friday in Switzerland. It is expected that both sides will discuss launching negotiations on Iran’s nuclear program. A senior U.S. government official previously said that the agreement was signed electronically last Sunday by Trump, Vance, and Kalibaf. However, diplomatic sources said no such signing took place. Another person familiar with the matter said that an electronic signing has indeed been completed, and the next step will be a “second signing.” It is currently unclear why two signings are needed.
