Mars Finance News, June 17—Nvidia officially announced on June 16 local time a major AI infrastructure expansion plan. The Gaoyi factory expansion project, which Nvidia invested in, has formally started. According to reports, this plan is the implementation of Nvidia’s strategic cooperation with Gaoyi from the earlier stage. This expansion relies on the wafer fab already put into operation last year. The facility has the world’s first 6-inch indium phosphide manufacturing production line capable of scaled mass production. After the expansion is completed, the factory’s capacity will be increased fourfold. In March this year, Nvidia invested $2 billion (about 136 billion RMB) in Gaoyi and signed a long-term procurement and capacity cooperation agreement. (CCTV Finance)
