Why is it that with the same 5,000 US dollars, some people turn it into 50k US dollars in a month, while others lose 500 US dollars in three days?$SIREN
The answer isn't that mysterious: it all depends on how you use leverage.
Many people think that the higher the leverage, the greater the risk. Actually, that's not necessarily true. What really causes you to get liquidated isn't the leverage multiple, but how you use it.
If used correctly, you can stay steady even in volatile markets; if used incorrectly, you can be wiped out overnight.$BEAT
Proper Use of Leverage
High leverage isn't for "going all-in," but for "small positions, multiple entries and exits, and flexible trading."
Here's a simple example:
Using 500 US dollars with 10x leverage and 250 US dollars with 20x leverage, the amount of capital involved is the same—5,000 US dollars.
If the market rises 1%, both profit roughly the same. But if it drops 1%, the difference becomes clear.
With 500 US dollars at 10x leverage, a 50 US dollar loss is 10% of the margin.
With 250 US dollars at 20x leverage, the same 50 US dollar loss accounts for 20% of the margin.
The same loss, but the percentage of margin used doubles. When your mindset collapses, risk becomes uncontrollable.
Position Size is More Important Than Leverage
Leverage itself isn't risky; the real risk is how much position you hold.
For example:
You have 10k US dollars in your account. Using 1,000 US dollars at 10x leverage allows for 10 such trades.
Using 500 US dollars at 20x leverage allows for 20 trades.$LAB
The latter is more flexible. When the market moves, you can adjust at any time, preventing one trade from wiping you out.
The true purpose of high leverage isn't to bet everything at once, but to split it up and trade flexibly.
Low Leverage vs. High Leverage
Low leverage is suitable for those who hold large positions and can withstand volatility.
High leverage is suitable for those who trade with small positions and prefer quick in-and-out moves.
Choose the method that matches your style. Don't get jealous when others make huge profits with 50x leverage; they can control their positions, which you might not be able to.
At the end of the day, leverage is just a tool.
What truly determines your success or failure is always your position size and discipline.#TradFiCFD黄金大师赛 #Gate现货交易量增幅全球第一
