Tonight’s FOMC is kind of interesting.

This is “Wash”’s first time sitting in the main seat; with a new official taking over, there’s going to be fire on all fronts. The market’s watching to see exactly how the knife in his hand will fall. In plain terms, whether rates will change isn’t the key point—markets have already priced that in. The real question is whether what comes out of his mouth is hawkish feathers or dovish feathers.

If he sounds hawkish, Auntie “Bingzi” can wash out some weak hands first—no problem. If his wording is soft, then he’s basically handing bulls a knife, and could even nudge the market higher.
