On June 16, Coinbase held its annual live “System Update” product launch, themed “Take Control,” spotlighting a series of new products across four major areas: trading, wealth management, AI, and developer infrastructure.

Coinbase said these new features further advance its goal of building an “Everything Exchange”—managing all your assets with one account and one gateway.

Golden Finance reporter summarized the key highlights of Coinbase’s presentation as follows:

1. Major expansion of trading assets

Tokenized Stocks

Next month, Coinbase will roll out tokenized stocks for non-U.S. users. These stocks will be pegged 1:1 to the underlying real stocks, including full shareholder rights and eligibility for dividends, while also featuring programmable characteristics of on-chain assets. You can trade U.S. stocks around the clock, stake them to earn yield, use them as collateral for loans, and even transfer them directly to others like sending a text message.

Options Trading

In the coming months, Coinbase will also introduce options trading for cryptocurrencies and stocks, giving users more room to construct complex strategies between traditional assets and digital assets.

Stock Portfolio Migration & Advanced Upgrade

Users can now transfer their stock portfolios from other platforms directly to Coinbase, trading almost all mainstream stocks, indices, and ETFs.

Coinbase Advanced is also being upgraded, adopting a modular, institutional-grade design. It supports cross-asset execution; users can freely drag and drop components to build a personalized trading interface, enabling cryptocurrencies and stocks to be traded side by side within the same screen.

In addition, Coinbase plans to integrate the U.S. spot exchanges, international derivatives exchanges, and Deribit into a unified, regulated global liquidity pool within the next few months, offering users access to the world’s most liquid spot markets, perpetual contracts, and options.

RWA Perpetual Contracts & Pre-IPO Perpetual Contracts

Coinbase launched RWA perpetual contracts tracking theme stock indices such as AI, China, defense, and Technology 100. The Pre-IPO perpetual contracts, which went live earlier this month, are already available, currently led by SpaceX, with Anthropic and OpenAI to follow.

New Prediction Market Features

Two new contract types are officially live: first, “Crypto Binary Options,” which allows time-limited predictions on whether assets such as BTC, ETH, and SOL will rise or fall, with time spans ranging from 15 minutes to a year.

Second, “Combos,” which supports bundling multiple predictions of different categories into a single trade—for example, placing bets on the outlook for economic indicators and global political events simultaneously, or packaging sports event outcomes together with player performance.

Instant Trading of New DEX Tokens

Starting tomorrow, users can trade newly launched tokens on Base or Solana directly at the first moment after they are deployed on-chain, via the “New Launches” tab in the Coinbase App.

2. AI-powered smart trading tools

Coinbase Advisor

Coinbase Advisor is officially launched, with the first batch available to U.S. Coinbase One members. This is one of the world’s first AI-driven, SEC-registered in-app investment advisors. Its functions range from designing tax-loss harvesting strategies to turning breaking news into cross-asset trading recommendations, providing professional-level investment guidance around the clock without traditional barriers.

Coinbase for Agents

Coinbase introduces Coinbase for Agents, a trading interface for AI Agents. Users can set tasks and operational boundaries for Agents using natural language—whether executing a specific market theme across spot and derivatives, or using the x402 protocol to purchase paid financial research reports. Agents can be restricted to run within separate sub-accounts, and users can set precise limits on funds, asset permissions, and trading size to ensure that operating permissions remain fully under the user’s control.

3. One-stop management for everyday finance

Coinbase One Card Travel Portal

Coinbase One Card launches a travel booking platform. For every trip-related purchase, users receive 5% Bitcoin cashback, credited directly to their account. Coinbase says this initiative is intended to address the pain point of traditional points expiring and losing value, replacing them with Bitcoin, and providing comprehensive travel protection benefits through the American Express network.

USDC-collateralized credit card

For users whose needs are not covered by the traditional credit system, Coinbase offers a way to apply for the Coinbase One Card using USDC as collateral. While earning Bitcoin cashback on everyday spending, the collateralized USDC itself also continues to generate yield every week, helping users build credit history.

Borrowing against staked SOL without unstaking

Users can now borrow on Coinbase using staked Solana (via JitoSOL) as collateral. This feature is supported by the Morpho protocol on the Base chain. The borrowing limit is up to 100,000 U.S. dollars per account. Previously supported collateral included BTC, ETH, SOL, XRP, DOGE, ADA, LTC, and cbETH (up to 1,000,000 U.S. dollars).

Transfer Protection

Coinbase introduces a new funds security framework, including delayed withdrawals (a manual confirmation window before trade execution), customizable daily limits, and a multi-party approval process to prevent large unauthorized transfers from occurring.

4. Enterprise and developer infrastructure

New Coinbase Developer Platform (CDP)

The new CDP provides a unified entry point. Enterprises can use Coinbase’s wallet infrastructure, payment capabilities, trading systems, and stablecoin issuance services through a single connection point.

Coinbase Payments

A complete stablecoin payment solution built on USDC and Base, serving enterprise clients’ cross-border payment needs. Checkout.com has been the first to integrate it. Coinbase revealed that last year it processed nearly one trillion dollars worth of stablecoin transaction volume on its own products alone.

Fully managed infrastructure & compliance access

For enterprises that want to provide crypto services to users but do not want to apply for licenses themselves, Coinbase has rolled out a fully managed compliance infrastructure solution. Leveraging its 80 global regulatory licenses, it reduces the partner onboarding timeline from years to weeks. Klarna and Webull have already been onboarded as the first partners.

Native Agent payment for AWS AgentCore

Coinbase and AWS have partnered to enable native Agent payment capabilities on AWS AgentCore. Coinbase Payments API is also being opened for Agent integration. The AI model platform OpenRouter has become one of the first integrated customers, supporting seamless payments from both human users and AI Agents.

Conclusion

The sheer number of products and the breadth of coverage at this Coinbase event make it the largest centralized product launch in Coinbase’s recent years.

From tokenized stocks and options, to AI investment advisors, to Agent trading interfaces and enterprise compliance infrastructure, CEO Brian Armstrong said at the event:

Coinbase is no longer just a place to trade cryptocurrencies; it is a place where you can trade everything.

Coinbase’s Everything Exchange strategy is moving from vision to reality.
