The so-called IMeY protocol being circulated online is very likely not the final version—the terms that have been released are probably too lenient, and the U.S. has given in too much.


It’s likely just being floated first to gauge public sentiment and broader social reaction. In the end, the U.S. government will definitely push the agreement one step further; at that point, President Trump could declare a total win—winning big—using that moment to make it look like he “won big.” This fits the President’s consistent negotiating style, and besides, how could the U.S. possibly agree to such a condition at home, and Israel certainly wouldn’t agree to it either.
