Anthropic’s whole play is so slick it’s almost ridiculous—promoting 5x/20x but actually not delivering, and veteran Web3 players are looking at it like, “Yep, this looks painfully familiar”—familiar overpromises, familiar collective lawsuits.

On June 15th, Karl Kahn filed a class-action lawsuit against Anthropic in the Northern District of California federal court, accusing them of misleading consumers.
The complaint states that the actual limits for Max 5x and Max 20x are far below the advertised 5x and 20x, with Claude Pro costing $17–$20 per month, and Max 5x/20x priced at $100 and $200 respectively.
Emails show that actual weekly usage does not match the advertised claims.
Kahn upgraded to Max 20x for high-intensity programming in April, but frequently hit weekly limits, requiring him to pause work or purchase additional quotas.
The lawsuit requests a refund of the high-tier subscription fees and compensation for affected users.
